Pray for Me

“My mother is a deeply devout woman. I followed her becoming a believer when I was young. Yet I was reluctant to attend church. My mother never rebuked me but prayed for me every day. I was then admitted to a top university in the country. One day, a teacher wrote a passage of lyrics on the blackboard that sounded very familiar to me, like a hymn. I asked the teacher privately about it, and he was a believer too. Under his guidance, I truly repented and was filled by God. Thank God for not abandoning me and thank my mother for her daily prayers. I see a mother like John Wesley’s in her. Now I have a Christ-centered family and am shepherding a Chinese congregation.”

(Brother Wu)

  • God, through the hymn on the blackboard and the teacher, awakened Brother Wu. May God keep him rooted in his spiritual foundation and strengthen his ministry. Pray that God will grant his mother joy, so that the whole family can be united in glorifying God.

Pet-friendly

A video has shocked netizens by showing a pet dog eagerly licking a cake from its owner’s plate at a hot-pot restaurant. Many netizens stated outright that they found it unacceptable. The restaurant thus announced it would suspend pet services of three of their pet-friendly restaurants. Experts believe that the mall operator should thoroughly consider whether to be pet-friendly, or it will become “pseudo-pet-friendly”. Recently, the China Department Store Commercial Association has officially released the Pet-Friendly Mall Operation Specifications which is the country’s first industry standard for pet-friendly malls providing systematic regulations on venue management, safety and security and related matters.

  • May the regulations facilitate formulation of inclusive pet-friendly policies by malls that can satisfy the demands of all stakeholders. Pray that pet owners will consider activities that suit their pets to minimize the risk of danger.

Gospel Spread in Inner Mongolia

The earliest introduction of Christianity to the Mongol people and the Inner Mongolia region can be traced back to the Yuan Dynasty. Around 1862, Hudson Taylor preached in the village of Sha’erxin on the outskirts of Baotou in Inner Mongolia. Subsequently, missionaries from the Swedish Missionary Society, the Assemblies of God and the China Evangelical Mission went to central and western Inner Mongolia, launching social welfare initiatives. After the founding of the PRC, missionaries started to leave. With several decades of development, the churches in Inner Mongolia flourished for a time. However, various challenges over the past decade have forced some church leaders being scrutinized to move to remote towns with their families and continue their service in a limited environment.

  • Pray for the churches in Inner Mongolia. May God strengthen the churches and protect His children and keep their faith strong to bear testimony for Him under pressure.
