The Discerning Mind

“Our church organized a ‘Holy Spirit Night’ encouraging us to be filled with the Spirit, i.e. speaking in other tongues. However, the tongues were not foreign languages but only the utterance of gibberish. The pastor said that we could speak sentences if we practiced more. I am able to tell right from wrong being the audience of Radio Liangyou for years. I have found I could not tolerate such false teaching, and therefore, together with others, pointed out the mistakes and studied God’s word with Bible study tools. I spoke to the pastor who said that tongues had contained ‘la-la’ and other tongue sounds. Feeling upset, I had no choice but left the church. I am still finding the right church for myself.”

(Brother Li)

  • Pray for the church to walk in God’s wisdom. Pray that the pastor can see God’s direction and lead the believers to study the Bible in a way that conforms to God’s will.

Fruit Flavored E-cigarettes

The law explicitly prohibits the sale of cigarettes, including electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), to minors. However, many parents have recently reported that a type of e-cigarettes with various fruit flavors is easily purchased by young people through secret channels. The refreshing twist to vaping has decreased the youth’s alertness to the threat of these e-cigarettes. According to the investigation, emoticons and keywords are used on e-commerce platforms, and e-cigarettes are also sold illegally in shops. Most of these fruit-flavored e-cigarettes are smuggled or fake products, and prolonged vaping is harmful to the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. However, unscrupulous merchants are still selling e-cigarettes even the ban is in place.

  • Let us pray for wisdom for law enforcement and policymakers to strengthen monitoring of AI fraud, develop innovative investigative methods, and promote anti-scam awareness in schools, communities, and workplaces.

The A-Hmao Deep Ploughing

The A-Hmao people live mainly in north Guizhou Province. Missionaries preached the gospel to the A-Hmao in the early 20th century. Samuel Pollard‘s translation of the Bible into the A-Hmao language motivated many people to accept Jesus Christ and changed the whole ethnic group. The Chinese have traditionally called them the “Big Flowery Miao”. The mass conversion of the A-Hmao to Christianity reveals the grace of God. Nearly 80% of them are believers, and their churches stay steadfast to Christ. They love singing hymns in particular. However, the society has changed over time and the young A-Hmao generation is moving to the cities and becoming less religious. Some pastors lamented that churches have become weakened and increasingly secularized.

  • Please pray for A-Hmao revival. A number of pastors have been engaging in Bible teaching by working on an audio Bible program. Please pray for productivity and success at work. May God bless this ministry to help believers learn and obey the truth, love Him and preach the Gospel.

Gospel Broadcasting

  1. You Music Channel: Radio Liangyou launched a 24-hour streaming platform named “You Music Channel” at last year’s end. Christian hymns and music are played randomly together with Bible verses as a source of comfort for listeners. Thank various Christian bands for their support allowing us to use their music for free.
  2. Short Wave Broadcasting: The International Short Wave League organizes meetings regularly in February every year to discuss the co-ordination of the use of shortwave channels. Adjustments were made as necessary at the end of March. Some radio frequency bands of Radio Liangyou were changed accordingly. May God use the new frequencies so that more listeners can be reached.
