More Than You Think

“Having Covid-19 last year made me so frustrated and feeble, and too weak to pray. I lost 10kg experiencing the long-term effects of Covid. However, with God I had no fear and left everything in His hands. Like what Paul has said, we, whether dead or alive, belong to Christ. During that period, many brothers and sisters, of my church or online, prayed for me like a family in Christ. God’s grace is amazing. He gives me strength to serve Him. Full of vigour and vitality, I drive more than 40km to church every Sunday. I feel so blissful watching dozens of children I have served grow on the path of truth.”

  • God loves His servant who has endured hardship through His grace which is more than she has thought. May God continue to use sister Xu’s testimony to affect more people.

Dangerous Toy

A heart-wrenching child accident happened in Hubei recently. When a 10-year-old girl was playing a mini kitchen toy marked “real cooking real eating” with her two younger brothers following the product instructions, the toy caught fire and the fire spread out of control. The children sustained burns of various levels. Such kind of toys has been very popular on e-commerce platforms but there is no warning about their potential risks. According to someone in the business, dangerous toys are popular because they are profitable on one hand and the government regulation is ineffective on the other. It is recommended that the technical standards of toys should be updated, the traceability system strengthened and penalties raised in a timely manner to make a greater cost for non-compliance.

(“Legal Daily”, January 6, 2025)

  • May the Lord heal the injured children and restore health to them. Pray that the Department concerned will step up toy safety and monitor the sales channels of toys with a view to stopping the problem toys from being sold through the market to prevent accidents.

Gospel to Sui People

The Sui is one of the most ancient ethnic groups in Guizhou, with a population of more than 400,000 people. The Sui people have been served by Sui pastors. In 1884, French Catholic missionaries were the first to visit the Sui in southern Guizhou. In early 20th century, the Sui people established 30 Catholic churches and the Catholic population was about 5,000. However, the Sui church leaders were killed during the Anti-Christian Movement in 1906 and the remaining believers scattered. The Evangelical missionaries first got in touch with the Sui people in 1910. A small group of Sui people showed their desire to learn about Christianity and sent representatives to meet the missionaries. However, few Sui people got to know about God due to insufficient servants to meet their needs. Until late 1990s, God established an energetic Sui church. It was said that there were 600 believers.

  • May we be touched by God to pray for and support the preaching to the Sui people. Pray that God will supply all the Sui pastors’ needs.

Gospel Broadcasting

  1. Overseas Chinese: Radio Liangyou is striving to serve overseas Chinese and has co-operated with the FEBC team in different regions preaching the gospel to and cultivating Chinese diaspora across the world for God. FEBC Indonesia has started the broadcasts in Chinese language through its four channels and the web platform since January. May God use the programs to bless the local Chinese.
  2. Church Calendar Devotion: Grateful that God has built the life of brothers and sisters from 60+ local and overseas churches and fellowships through “Church Calendar Devotion”, helping them to establish a “Christ-centered” spiritual life together.
