Growth and Renewal

“Over 20 years ago, I happened upon a gospel radio program. Having God gradually open my heart, I became a believer in Jesus. Listening to Radio Liangyou programs is my favorite pastime and has fostered my spiritual growth. I have been remaining firm and unwavering in Christ. Both the profound grace from God and Liangyou Radio teachings are the integral parts of my Christian faith. Sometimes I think I should have experienced God’s grace earlier. My perspective on marriage and romance has changed because of Radio Lianyou. With your teaching emphasizing discernment in choosing a spouse, I resolved to wait for a God-loving sister to be my lifelong companion. Thank God for preparing an excellent wife for me.”

  • Thank God for making Himself known to Brother Guo. His personal growth and steadfastness in the Lord are pleasing to God. May God bless him and his family, enabling them to bear a fine witness.

Respite Care for the Elderly

During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays, a Hangzhou sub-district partnered with local institutions to launch the pilot “Respite Care for the Elderly” service. For RMB 99 per day, elderly residents can stay at a care center. Traditional care homes primarily focus on long-term care, failing to meet short-term needs. Day care services provide daily assistance, they do not offer overnight stays and often have staff shortages during holidays. Experts suggest that popularizing respite care services requires standardizing the services, fee regulations and oversight mechanisms to ensure service quality. Hope that the authorities will encourage greater participation through subsidies and tax incentives.

(“Beijing Youth Daily”, October 10, 2025)

  • May respite care become more widely available. Pray for the refinement to elderly care standards and appropriate policies enabling the sustainable development of elderly care services.

Multiple Responsibilities

The Miao churches are relatively large in number and well-established, having borne rich fruit through the diligent labor of early missionaries. However, many young Miao believers have drifted away from the church and sought jobs elsewhere to keep up with the times. A Miao pastor, anxious about the secularization of the church, found himself struggling to balance the church and family life. In addition, several pastors have to be engaged in farm work while preaching and teaching, and scale back their involvement in ministry during the autumn harvest season.

  • Pray for pastors taking on diverse roles. They shepherd believers, work to support their families and help harvest during the busy farming seasons. Some even voluntarily take on the compilation of Bible teaching materials and audio Bible courses in the Miao language to strengthen believer training. May the Lord give wisdom and strength to His overwhelmed servants dealing with burnout.

  1. New Program Schedule: Radio Liangyou has renewed its program schedule on October 26, and launched a brand-new program named “Pastors’ Koinonia” focusing on care for pastors. We hope that serving pastors can feel understood and regain strength through various forms of support. Pray for the production team of this new program and better services for our listeners.
  2. Essay-based assessment: Upon completion of the two levels of the LTS Lay Training programs, some participants have proceeded to essay-based assessment of Lay Training III. The initial phase comprises 12 subjects, covering testimony writing, preparation of essay writing and expository sermons. May God grant students strength and resilience to succeed in their studies and wisdom to our instructors to teach effectively.
