Protected By the Lord
“I worked in a law firm and handled cases of work-related injuries. I was required to go to hospitals to see if there were any people injured and provide legal aid. I could only get one case in a month which was very discouraging. I prayed, but nothing had changed. I had no choice but to resign. After that, I came to a new law firm. I later learned that the old firm had cheating activities. Half of the contracts submitted were automatically invalidated, delaying the clients’ claims. The firm also violated the laws and it was closed down. If I had handled more cases, I would have been arrested. Thank God that He has already protected me.”

- When Sister Shen was still unaware, God had already protected her from falling into the trap of crime. May God continue to lead Sister Shen so that she can do her current work well, glorify God, benefit other people and help the vulnerable groups.
Addicted to Drawing Cards
Following “blind boxes”, “blind cards” are becoming the new favorites of many teenagers. But these small cards are the “thorns” in the hearts of many parents. In some schools, the culture of drawing cards is popular and “blind cards” have become “social passwords”. Drawing a good card is equivalent to having high popularity. Behind this addictive behavior is the “reward circuit” mechanism in the human brains which is the same as other addictive behaviors. Experts suggest that parents can use the method of “probability calculation” to let children recognize the tactics of merchants and build up children’s self-management ability via establishment of a target-related incentive mechanism.

Live For the Lord
“My mother is 86 years old. All her health indicators, which should not be high, are high. No organs of her body that are in good condition. But she miraculously remains alive today. She can also take care of herself in most situations. She lives more joyfully than many healthy people do. My mother says that her life is under the control of the Lord Jesus. If God takes her back to the heaven, she will thankfully accept this. She has a great influence on me, especially her faith in the Lord Jesus and her joyful attitude of life. I often think that regarding an old person like her, such strong hope comes from the endless strength and grace given by the Lord Jesus.”

- Thank God for giving Sister Chen steadfast faith. Her life is like a bright lamp reflecting the glory of God. Although she is in poor health condition, she is joyful every day. This has allowed the sister to experience the wonderful grace of gaining strength in weakness.
Fishing Prohibited
Dongting Lake is an important spawning ground of economics-related fish and rare aquatic animals. According to regulations, fishing is strictly prohibited in the first-level protection zone of the water source. Staff members have no law enforcement power and can only persuade people. But there are many entrances to the lake; fishing cannot be stopped at all. A reporter has noticed that these people use a variety of fishing tools, some may cause devastating damages to aquatic organisms. Abandoned fishing tools can also harm finless porpoises and even kill them. Although the central ecological and environmental protection inspectors have appeared for many times, they have no power of law enforcement.
