Bittersweet

“I am blind and living on my own. I had a very tough time over the past years taking care of my paralyzed brother. I endured all these things for Christ’s sake and for my elder brother. After my brother passed away, I live alone again feeling much more relaxed. I like playing electric piano and flute, writing poems and lyrics and singing them out. I won’t say I have done something great but we need more fun in our life. Feeling more grateful when singing, I experience God’s grace every day. God does not treat me poorly. I am satisfied with a simple life. I can even enjoy free nursing service in hospital under hot weather. God gives infinite supply.”

(Brother Tang)

  • Thank God for using suffering to mature Brother Tang who can sing Hallelujah in all circumstances. God must be pleased with Tang listening to his songs and music. Thank God for suppling every need of Tang’s.

Obstruction of Fire Escapes

The recent fires in Beijing and Hebei have highlighted the problem of occupied fire escapes. Surveys have shown that fire escapes in a number of small districts have been occupied by miscellaneous objects and private cars, seriously hindering emergency rescue. Residents are generally not alert while property companies are not able or unauthorized to clear the items, especially those having a certain value. Existing problems include evidence collection, imposition of penalties and co-ordination. Experts have suggested that law enforcement departments should strengthen co-operation and take prompt enforcement action, enhance safety awareness of residents and optimize the spatial design of small districts in order to solve the problem.

(“Legal Daily”, February 11, 2025)

  • May the government departments co-operate by conducting prompt inspections upon receipt of reports and pursuing offenders who have blocked the fire escapes. May God change the people to care more about their community and be aware that convenience comes with risks.

God will not Forget

“Being a Christian for a few months in 2013, I didn’t know much about the Bible and Jesus. One morning, my chest hurt so much that I even forgot to pray. Suddenly, I received a text message from a Christian sister. It said, ‘Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our Salvation. Selah.’ I felt calm reading the message and prayed silently. The pain eased. Then I worked and wondered how she knew that I was in great distress and needed God’s word at that moment. When I talked to her about this later, she said she had been touched to send me the message. Oh Lord, I have forgotten You but You have not forgotten me. You sent the sister to comfort me.”

(Brother Li)

  • Thank God for keeping Brother Li safe. Though we forget, God will not. Brother Li has experienced God’s amazing grace. May he be a witness for God to share the gospel with more people.

Pay for Convenience

Shuttle buses are the common choice for taking tourists from the entrance of a scenic area to the main attraction, or visiting different attractions. However, complaints of overcharging, poor services and forced consumption against scenic areas have emerged. A netizen shared his experience being asked to hire a shuttle as the car park was full. The whole story turned out to be a lie. Besides, the entrance of some scenic areas is several kilometers away from the main attraction. No physical separation of lanes creates danger as pedestrians and cars compete for space. It is suspected that the scenic spots are designed and arranged to make profit by providing shuttle bus service.

(“People’s Daily”, February 10, 2025)

  • Pray that the departments concerned can re-examine the facilities and charges of scenic areas. Penalties should be imposed for deliberately overcharging tourists. Good shuttle bus service should be provided to serve tourists and protect the environment as intended.

Gospel Broadcasting

  1. Thru the Bible: The five-year “Thru the Bible” Bible study program will officially finish at the end of March. Recording of the sermons has been completed. The remaining procedures are the program host’s recording and the post-production mixing. Thanks should go to the hard work of the program team and the support of our ministry partners. These can bring solid biblical explanations to our listeners and also help believers understand the essence of Christian truth. Many listeners have benefited greatly from this.
  2. Extended Learning: Liangyou Theological Seminary has launched an extended learning program “Lay Training Program III” to train students how to answer questions in a written text form.
