Renewed by the Lord

“When nothing happens, I feel like I have strong faith in God and believe I will always rely on Him unwaveringly. But when challenges arise, I quickly weaken, and complaints follow. I must not overestimate my own faith but instead seek God’s strength to sustain me to the end. Through my experiences, I realize I need to fix my eyes on God, trust that His grace is sufficient for me, and accept His best arrangements for His children. Even when I cannot see clearly, I must believe, trust completely, and surrender. I cannot rely on myself alone and need the support of fellow believers. I must learn to let go, surrender, depend on, and look up to Him! God’s timing is neither early nor late—it is always just right.”

(Sister Chen)

  • We are grateful that Sister Chen recognizes her own weakness and understands the need to rely on God’s power for transformation. Her willingness to seek God is surely the result of His work in her heart. May God continue to help Sister Chen grow in Him.

White-Collar Platformization

In recent years, the rapid growth of platforms has caused significant changes in many organizations. The internet has platformized blue-collar jobs, such as delivery drivers and rideshare services, and is now extending to white-collar professions. With artificial intelligence reshaping industries, some career networking and recruitment platforms are envisioning future hiring trends. By integrating all labor resources, more white-collar workers may work for platforms that distribute varied tasks. These tasks, broken down by AI, are then assigned to individuals for execution. This shift could profoundly alter employment relationships and organizational structures.

(“China News”, January 7, 2025)

  • May the Lord guide the application of AI, not only to drive efficiency and innovation but also to bring about a more just and inclusive work environment. May every industry find equal opportunities and dignity in this new model, fostering mutual love and demonstrating the Lord’s mercy and faithfulness.

Facing Challenges Boldly

“The church community cares about me deeply, especially the elderly members who often introduce potential partners to me, which puts a lot of pressure on me. I have pledged to dedicate my life to God and remain single. Repeatedly declining these introductions has strained my relationship with the church, and I gradually stopped attending. Later, a brother invited me to join an online prayer group. After some time, I felt pressured again and wanted to quit. However, the brother encouraged me, saying that having the opportunity to serve is a blessing. After two days of prayer and struggle, I decided to continue. I realized it was my own pride that caused the tension, so I decided to reconcile with the brothers and sisters in the church.”

(Sister Fang)

  • Thank the Lord for leading Sister Fang to continue serving despite her struggles. May Sister Fang’s decision be in line with God’s heart, and may she be anointed in her service. We trust that the Lord will guide her path ahead.

Welfare for the Elderly

Recently, multiple departments in Chongqing jointly issued the “Implementation Plan for Promoting the Development of the Silver Economy and Enhancing Elderly Welfare”, which outlines 20 measures to improve the quality of life for seniors. In 2023, Chongqing’s population aged 65 and above exceeded six million, with an aging rate of 18.9%, the highest in western China. Aging is accelerating as population demographics shift, healthcare improves, and consumption habits evolve. Seniors are becoming significant consumers. Moving forward, the Chongqing government will collaborate with relevant departments to implement this plan.

(“China News”, January 6, 2025)

  • May the Lord grant wisdom and foresight to the Chongqing government, ensuring better welfare and security for the elderly. We pray that every senior enjoys health and joy in their later years. May society increasingly prioritize the needs of the elderly.

Gospel Broadcasting

  1. Overseas Chinese: Radio Liangyou is striving to serve overseas Chinese and has co-operated with the FEBC team in different regions preaching the gospel to and cultivating Chinese diaspora across the world for God. FEBC Indonesia has started the broadcasts in Chinese language through its four channels and the web platform since January. May God use the programs to bless the local Chinese.
  2. Church Calendar Devotion: Grateful that God has built the life of brothers and sisters from 60+ local and overseas churches and fellowships through “Church Calendar Devotion”, helping them to establish a “Christ-centered” spiritual life together. It is hoped that more brothers and sisters will join the journey of Lent which will start in March.
