Uncontrollable Brother
“My younger brother, aged 28, ran away from home three days ago. He got discharged from the military in 2015 and spent all money of our family over these years. My family has gone into debt because of him. He dined out frequently and stayed outside all through the night. He drinks and smokes severely and tells lies. We have repeatedly preached the Gospel to him. He promised to follow God but has done nothing to break his bad habits. He keeps thinking how to earn more money. Mother can’t stop crying. My parents paid off more than RMB 300 thousand in debt for him. He worked in a casino. He was diagnosed with a high uric acid level early this year and bedridden for half a month. We preached the Gospel to him again. He accepted and said that he would go to church. Yet he is still the same old person after recovery. He drinks and lies, and never cares about father and mother.”

May our Lord comfort Sister Kitty’s family, and save her rebellious brother. Pray that her brother will repent and care about his heartbroken parents, and rely on God to turn over a new leaf.
Overcoming Adversity Together
A wide range of support was given for Xi’an in the midst of a lockdown upon a resurgence of the pandemic. Residents were ordered to stay at home and could not go out to shop for basic necessities. Hence, other cities provided support and help for Xi’an during lockdown by giving away free vegetables and fruits, etc. Qingchuan County in Guangyuan City in Sichuan Province which had been severely hit by the Wenchuan earthquake was one of the cities offering a helping hand in supporting the anti-Covid policy. Donations from 250,000 people and 64 tonnes of vegetables from voluntary organizations were shipped to Xi’an in a short period of time, and delivered to needy residents in various communities through government departments.

Continue to pray for the pandemic, and that the Government takes appropriate anti-Covid measures to fight the virus together with the people. Thank God for the donations from the big-hearted people. Pray that God will motivate more people to help others willingly.
Tibetan New Year
While people in China are busy preparing for Lunar New Year, Tibetans are also expecting a new year to come which is their traditional festival. The calculation of Tibetan New Year is different from Chinese Lunar Year. Tibetan New Year falls either on the same day, a day before or a day after, or 30 days after the Chinese one. The streets and venues in Tibet come alive with festive atmosphere as prayer flags wave in the sky and Tibetans share their joy through activities such as horse racing and dancing.

Frank Doggett Learner, the author of “Rusty Hinges: A Story of Closed Doors Beginning to Open in North-East Tibet”, was a missionary in Tibet, Xining in Qinghai province for 30 years. In his book, he compared the unpleasant sound of rusty hinges to opening the long-time closed doors of Tibet. He appealed to all at the end of the book, “Who will lay courage, fortitude and talents at His feet? Who will offer for the King’s service on the borders or in the interior of this vast land?” Let us pray fervently for Tibetans in the New Year.

Our mandate “Christ to the World by Radio” remains unchanged, the goal to maturity remains the same, and in the same way, followers of the Lord Jesus must remain steadfast.
- Equipment Update: Our recording studios have been in constant use — since we moved to this location in 2009 — for more than ten years now. The Technical Support team has spared no efforts in preparing the studio update since last year and has put forward a proposal. Please pray that the project will go smoothly under God’s guidance and the program production will not be affected.
